I hope it’s still a matter of public interest to ask the City of White Rock to hold the BNSF rail company to account for the continued use of train whistles, which occur during the wee hours of the nighttime or daytime with no seeming justification.
While grateful for a dramatic reduction of frequency, since the construction of barriers and warning bells, I think the public is entitled to greater compliance with the recent commitment on the part of the company to eliminate all use of the train whistle unless life and safety are threatened.
Trusting that my opinion is shared by other White Rock residents, I sincerely hope the city mayor and council will continue to hold the company to their promises of complete compliance by all train engineers, by eliminating the unnecessary use of train whistles.
