LETTERS: Railroad crossings will be noisy

Editor:

If you think people are complaining about the current status of the railroad through White Rock now, just wait several months and you will see a barrage of complaining as a result of the railroad crossings

These railroad crossings are outfitted with flashing lights and bells.

There are approximately five of these crossings on East Beach and if they install them also on West Beach then the results will be that when a train, particularly a coal train, makes its way across the front of the town these bells are going to be ringing constantly.

People might want to look at their current property values and consider how all this might affect, not only their mental state, but their financial state.

I think it is going to become quite noisy down along Marine Drive with the combination of the train itself and these bells ringing. I wonder if businesses will be affected?

Do you think your mid-afternoon seaside stroll on a beautiful sunny day will be affected?
