LETTERS: Saving a life worth a few minutes’ delay

Sad to say, there was another accident at the junction of 176 Street and 40 Avenue. This time a person was killed and another injured.

When is the local authority going to put a traffic light at that intersection? It has been a constant source of accidents for many years.

The speed limit is 80 km/h, but not many drivers observe it. I travel along 176th on my way to work, and it never ceases to amaze me when I see drivers on 40th waiting to cross four lanes of busy highway, and then see some of the near-misses that occur.

So, it would be another stop and an inconvenience for drivers in a hurry, but it’s worth saving a life for a few extra minutes travel time.
