RCMP cuts led to more crime writter claims

Editor:

It was down-right funny to watch Premier Christy Clark making her remarks regarding the growing gang problem in Surrey, and announcing the B.C. Liberal government was allocated $23 million to deal with it.

This is the same Christy Clark who by August 2014 had reduced provincial RCMP funding so drastically that the RCMP warned there would be “staffing reductions” in its organized crime and homicide units.

So it might be reasonable to conclude that had Clark not cut the RCMP budget so drastically in 2014, we might have avoided some of the problems we’re facing in 2016.

Premier Clark might want to remember, you can pay today, or you can pay later, but when you pay later, it’s usually more costly, either in terms of money, life, or living conditions.
