Methods important when balancing a budget

I read in our local paper that our provincial government continues to balance the budget. Whoopee!

You guys are singing from the same song book as the defeated federal Conservatives.

Balance the budget on the backs of essential services for the people of B.C. by reducing funding for schools to below the annual cost of living, privatize health-care services (i.e. laundry), throwing local people out of work so that hospital laundry can add to highway congestion/pollution being trucked back and forward to far-off locations. A totally inequitable MSP collection system.

Your “efficiencies” go on and on causing schools, which are the heart of communities, to close.

Raising revenues by selling tags for mega dollars to wealthy foreigners to kill grizzly bears. Who does this nowadays? Lets see now, oh yes that dictator Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe is using the same “lion hunting tags for dollars” program, I bet he says he has a balanced budget too. We are the only jurisdiction in the Western World that still allows trophy hunting for cash. Wildlife has to be protected not eliminated for the benefit of an elite few (read Alberta Grizzly Bear Recovery program).

Anyway, I’m just saying… maybe you should pause and think once in a while about what most people really need and want from their elected representatives apart from political talking points to get re-elected. Just saying.

Don’t follow the Harper trail to political oblivion.
