Misinformation and conspiracy theories abound
What is in the drinking water in some parts of Cowichan that causes such educational deficiencies about history and critical thinking among so many people?
Completely bonkers that anyone would believe that private enterprise is the savour of the environment when the only goal that the corporations have is to increase their bottom lines and to pay dividends to their shareholders. Just look at how the fossil fuel industry, especially in the U.S., has been the driving force behind Trump rolling back all the environmental protection laws brought in by Obama? How the Wildlife Act and the protection it provided has been gutted to satisfy big business. The free market and the corporations are the exact opposite to what environmental leaders should be.
Supporting the racist musings of Donald Trump by agreeing with the backers of Epoch Times is not a good look for anyone. It is hard to tell if Trump is parroting the conspiracy theories of Falun Gong or they are using him as a useful tool/fool in their ongoing battle with the Chinese government. Either way, the resulting racism it is fostering needs to be soundly rebuked by saner people.
Yes, China needs to be held to account starting with why it hasn’t shut down what are called wet markets. But no serious scientist believes that this new virus is anything but a naturally occurring mutation. Well, except for anyone who puts conspiracy theories and innuendo ahead of proven facts. You know, the Covidiots who are spreading as fast as the virus itself.
The Orange Peel President who has let nearly 90,000 Americans die by doing nothing for the first seven weeks of the pandemic so as not to hurt his re-election chances is in dire need of being investigated for his conspiracy against the common good. As do all the big corporations and the Covidiots fighting to reopen America and, to a lesser extent here in Canada, no matter how big the death total will be as a result.
It bothers me greatly when people offer up misinformation and distorted views of reality that are as repugnant as they are dangerous. I expect a modicum of intelligence when people write letters, but facts don’t seem to matter any more. Well, they still do to me.
