Moose Hide Campaign comes back to Clearwater

What is it about women and girls anyhow?

Why would any man–indeed, any person that we would like to look up to, want to harm us?

During the time of the Moose Hide Campaign we are bringing extra awareness to the issues of “respect,” and to the honouring and protection of the females of this species … the humans—in order that we might think on where our future necessarily lies.

For only the woman–the female—has the honour and the privilege of conceiving and bearing the children. Those whose lives and decisions will form our future; both male and female are brought into existence through the efforts of the feminine.

I guess you could say that without woman there could be no man.

During the time of the Moose Hide Campaign we bring extra attention to the missing and indeed, even murdered, women. More than many of those women being of the First Peoples of this beautiful land we call our home.

How can anyone be so hard hearted and indeed ‘hard headed’ that they would destroy their very chance for existence?

Share in discussions, observe displays, listen to presentations, join in song – please know that you are welcome at the Dutch Lake Community Centre on the afternoon and evening of Feb. 13.

We will share all that and more as we join together in remembrance of those who no longer have a voice. Perhaps we will think of ways to advocate for and protect ourselves and our sisters, mothers and daughters from these dishonors.

I look forward to joining you at this 2019 Moose Hide Campaign event right here in Clearwater on Feb. 13.
