I am appalled at the decision to allow dogs into Polson Park.
I appreciate the fact that there are dog owners who pick up after their dogs in the belief that they are cleaning up after their pet. However, to those dog owners I would like to make this suggestion… after you pick up after your dog, place your hand on the spot then put that hand on your face. If you truly believe that you have a sanitary spot where you picked up your dog droppings, then you will surely have no problem doing as I suggest. If you have an issue with doing said suggestion, then why do you think that the general public will be okay with your pet soiling the park? Many of the public enjoy stretching out on the grass enjoying the feel of that turf. I don’t think they want to be sitting on whatever those dogs have left on the grass.
The powers that be should seriously re-consider their decision. It is NOT okay with dogs in Polson, just as those same dog owners should not be taking their dogs onto school grounds or playing fields, as too many dog owners think is okay.
And just a quick message to those “responsible dog owners” who pick up after their dog then leave the bag at the side of the road as someone in the Blue Jay subdivision likes to do…. STOP IT!!!! Take the bag home with you!!
