No need to use farmland; put solar panels in Hydro corridors

I agree with a previous letter writer who states farmland should not be used to build solar farms.

But, there is no need to use farmland for solar farms in the Cowichan Valley because BC Hydro has an enormous amount of land in the Valley that can be utilized for solar farms. From the Satlam substation to Goldstream the main electric transmission line right-of-way (ROW) must total in the thousands of hectares. The electrical energy generated by the solar farms along the ROW would directly feed into Hydro’s transmission line. We urgently need alternatives to natural gas and wood burning.

By the way, I believe the oldest form of heat and life-supporting energy on this planet has been the sun, not wood burning.
