Two recent issues appearing in your paper – “‘Offensive Events’ policy to be reconsidered” (Feb. 4) and Andrew Holota’s editorial “Cannon Bylaw Support” (Feb. 6) have interesting parallels.
Both Lingerie Football and the use of berry cannons could be considered offensive. And both topics have required council’s input as of late.
The one big difference? If I don’t like Lingerie Football, I don’t have to go. If I don’t like the intrusive sounds of blueberry cannons interrupting my life, I cannot escape it – even in the comfort of my own home.
Certainly food for thought.
