Re: RDKB board rejects adding question period in agenda (story, Nov. 7 issue of the Grand Forks Gazette)

I read that the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) may want to disallow question period or public input to the board at its meetings.

Currently, most of the meetings are held in Trail, starting at 6 p.m., which already makes it difficult for anybody from the Boundary to attend never mind getting there and not being allowed to speak.

I live in Area C, and the RDKB is my local government. Imagine wanting to speak to Grand Forks’ city council and not being allowed to speak? All you are doing is alienating people further.

The public expressed outage at the provincial government for not allowing consultation on the HST.

Is the RDKB heading in the same direction by not allowing public, or press comments at the board meetings?
