Nurses’ union ads frustrating for reader

Issue of demanding professional nurses for basic “housekeeping” tasks is turf war to retain higher-paying jobs: reader

I am getting slowly fed up seeing the self-serving, full-page ads for the B.C. Nurses Union in this and other newspapers, showing a caring bedside nurse.

Surely this whole issue of demanding the use of professional nurses for basic “housekeeping” tasks is just a turf war to retain higher-paying jobs and has nothing to do with patient welfare.

I am still waiting to see a letter from a registered nurse that states, “Now hear this: I didn’t go to nursing school for four years to spend my time toileting and bathing patients. Other well-qualified staff are available for that.”
