I continue to take issue with how a small group of land owners on Glendenning Road maintain that they have every right to control their so-called “heritage lane” that is actually public land, especially when they are comfortably sitting on very large pieces of property (that I suspect have had a lot of bushes and trees removed when their homes were built). Most residents can likely walk into the park in a few minutes.
Does no one there understand how the majority of park users do not have that luxury because many live in houses on normal-sized lots, in condos or rental apartments? In these situations one often has no peaceful park-like space to sit quietly and enjoy the tranquility all of us need periodically.
Many times we have written letters verifying there has been a lot of support from the public who are in favour of increased parking for sensible and/or necessary reasons of health, mobility, etc. What has happened to common sense, empathy and democracy? Self serving does not cut it with me.
I can and have used all five parking lots over these past 25 years and will continue to do so as long as possible. It saddens me that many people may be facing their loss of easier access here primarily due to personal issues they have no control over.
