Editor, The News:
I have lived in Maple Ridge for 27 years, and during that time, I have weekly, if not, monthly visited our nearby Golden Ears Provincial Park.
Last winter the main day area and beach underwent a makeover that consisted of removing large maple trees and planting grass.
Not only did this logging venture destroy the natural beauty of the park, it has made this once shaded and peaceful oasis into a sun-burn-welcoming eye soar.
The trees they left standing (mostly coniferous) have died, most likely due their roots being destroyed from logging and removal of stumps last winter.
