Recently after putting $1 in the meter and getting two hours of parking, I went on my way down the street where I stopped the meter-checking woman to tell her I drive from Calgary just to park in Vernon.
The rates are absurdly low and I congratulate council for increasing such.
Rates in Calgary vary, but downtown there is nothing less than $8 per hour, apparently higher than New York.
The meter lady, being complained to by upset residents over the parking price, offered to kiss me if I would write this letter. I declined the kiss, which I regret, but made good on the letter.
Although I live in Calgary, I summer in Vernon, invest in Vernon, employ people from Vernon and by the way, I love to park in Vernon.
