People have right to answers about organization
Both Joe Sawchuk and Sharon Jackson have raised numerous issues about the Cowichan Valley Mental Health Association, which has been met with hostility by Anne Brunet, CEO of the association. (“Small disgruntled band spreading misinformation about CMHA-Cowichan”, Citizen, May 5)
To be very honest, when I read what Sawchuk and Jackson had discovered, I asked myself, how can this be and above all where is the accountability of this organization? Instead of correcting what Brunet calls “misinformation” she laments on how her underlings felt about Sawchuk and Jackson’s scrutiny. It is totally unacceptable for any CEO to label responsible people as “disgruntled” because they have concerns how an organization is spending taxpayers’ money.
Surely people in the CVRD have a right to have answers to questions raised and if they are not forthcoming then a government audit is due.
