I was thinking the other day that a truer saying was never uttered but the one stating that patience is a virtue! Things annoy us as humans which is natural. It is how we deal with them that defines us right? Well I like to think that way anyway. I like to think I am a really strong and patient person in general. Having helped raise two teenage daughters I have learned a thing or two about how to be patient, as they will tell you. There are many things out there that can be trying to that learned calm. I can usually get by them and keep a cool head.
The other day however I was instantly ticked off. Yep, that does not happen often to me. Can you guess what it may have been at this time of year? Well, I will tell ya! I was heading to work one day and what did I see? I saw some ‘person’ driving with only their windshield clear! Holy cow I was annoyed instantly! What the H.E. double toothpicks people?
I was so ticked I almost followed them to stop and chat. If I had not been already getting close in time for work I may have done it. I understand from a vertically challenged person’s point of view that if you can only get part of a large truck cleared even when you climb up inside then you have to drive anyway. But, it was a car and not a large one. I could have reached it all. The person inside was not challenged it didn’t look like but could have taken more time. There is no excuse people. Just saying… It is dangerous to try this. You have way more blind spots, not to mention that the snow may fly off into the next driver’s window and cause an accident. Sheesh!
I understand busy and in a hurry. When it comes to danger like that though busy and in a hurry does not cut it.
Not sure how your pet peeves affect your lives. I do know they require tact and patience in many cases. Sometimes it can be chewing with your mouth open, and others can see the food ….ewww. Sometimes it can be someone saying “ax” instead of “ask”.
There are many things that can annoy us. Some people have a large number of pet peeves, and I guess we can generally try to just ignore them or concentrate on other things. Hmmm… Sometimes though…
That being said, there are some like the incident I mentioned that are dangerous. Luckily now there are new recent laws in effect to get people ticketed for driving that way. Yipee!
I guess until there are laws about all the pet peeves out there that annoy us we will have to learn more patience right? I guess I am up for it, but some days…ugh!
Good luck to the rest of you!
