The editorial in the Aug. 12 edition of the Penticton Western News, “Fight over HST now just a waiting game”, was pretty much bang on until the last paragraph, which stated “those prone to doing so will eventually find something else to complain about.”
It has a certain ring to it — but the media, in one form or another, is responsible 24/7 for the supply of downer fodder — thankfully for complainers to complain about.
I disagree with the saying “what we don’t know can’t hurt us.” Have you checked under your office chair for a bomb lately or read your own news stories?
Without media reporting on sick and sad events from around a shrinking world bound by instant electronics, the Porko creeps may find a higher gear to turn the screws on we the unsuspecting who would have no knowledge of the good, bad or ugly, yet alone hope for a tiny glimpse of truth.
Even in a perfect world, which ain’t about to happen, complainers would be needed to keep it perfect.
In fact, I present a complaint that happened in the past hour. My wife just returned from a visit with the doctor who gave her a prescription to fill: cost of ointment $ 2.01; dispensing fee $9.80; total cost of $11.61. Now here is a rip off to complain about — don’t you think?
