Random acts of kindness

It seems there are more letters of complaint than of praise.

It seems there are more letters of complaint than of praise. So I’d like to remind the readers that there are a lot of wonderful people in Abbotsford, given to “random acts of kindness.”

I experience them most often when I’m shopping. Being very obviously handicapped, I find it very interesting to see how many people, young and old, customers and staff, are cheerfully willing to help, when asked, and even to just offer – without being asked – to help.

This ranges from an elderly gentleman looking for a jar of jam I wanted, and couldn’t find; to a young woman emptying my scooter basket at the checkout; to a taxi driver picking up the step stools my driver uses so I can get into her truck (that she forgot to pick up) and delivered them to my apartment.

I’ve lived in a lot of cities, but I can honestly say I appreciate living here in Abby more than anywhere else.
