Dear editor,
Now that the proposed poorly loved monstrosity that was supposed to replace The Lorne Hotel is a thing of the past maybe now the much loved Lorne can be, at least, cosmetically recreated. Of course use modern materials and fire prevention etc but make it look exactly like The Lorne, inside and out. Bring back the charm and warmth of the original. The ambience was sorely missed in the proposed modern build.
There is nothing wrong with old fashioned charm.
Tourists would also be interested in an old building that was so loved by the surrounding communities that when it was destroyed by fire it was recreated to look exactly like the original. Something to think about.
