Editor:
I’m writing in regards to the tiring and disappointing strike that is plaguing our schools.
I am not choosing sides, nor will I because I believe both sides have a great deal of maturing to do. However, I recently heard some information that discouraged me.
I was informed that the government reneged on the last contract that was signed.
The teachers’ union have taken the government to the Supreme Court twice and have won both times, yet the government has still not complied.
My compromise would be for the government to give back to the teachers what was legally agreed upon in the last contract, and then see if the union steps up to do their share in getting this resolved.
