Re: Toll the roads that lead in and out of Metro Vancouver Region.
Is it fair that someone can buy their gas in the Fraser Valley or Washington State and avoid the extra gas taxes?
The tolls should be located at the gas tax transition when cars drive on to TransLink jurisdiction – there are three border crossings that enter the GVRD from Washington State.
We could simply set up three tolling stations for cars entering the region from Washington State to reduce the desire for cars to fill up on gas south of the border.
If it is a fair system, then I won’t mind paying the extra gas taxes.
However, I am tired of hearing about how people can simply avoid the higher gas taxes, by choosing to buy gas far away from the city, yet commute into the city region every day.
