  • Roses to Dianne Watts – if you will run for mayor of Surrey next election.
  • A bouquet of roses to Corey, who came to my rescue when I fell while walking my dog Sunday, June 16 near Bose park. She brought me some water and an ice pack for my bruises and then drove me home. Thank you, your help was much appreciated.
  • The Surrey engineering department deserves a truckload of roses for its prompt and thorough responses to the requests on the Surrey Request app. They have been quick to fix issues like illegal dumping, sidewalk care, bush/tree trimming, etc. Thank you! Keep up the great work!
  • A boatload of rotten tomatoes to our mayor who doesn’t have the money for more RCMP officers but apparently does for a folly of a canal. Please get your priorities straight. Safety and recreation centres are more important than a wasting money on a canal.
  • Rotten tomatoes to the landscaping crew in charge of cutting the grass at Guildford Heights Park. Instead of picking up the garbage before you cut the grass, you just run it over, chopping it up into little bits and spreading it all over the park – plastic cups, plastic straws, plastic lids. You only care about how fast you can cut the lawn, you do not care about the park or the people who use it. Rotten tomatoes to the City of Surrey. You should be overseeing the jobs these guys are doing and make sure they do everything they’re getting paid for!
  • Rotten tomatoes to all those people (kids included) who don’t wear helmets while they ride bikes, scooters or skateboards. Brain injuries are a permanent thing and a concussion can change a person for life. It just doesn’t make sense.
  • Rotten tomatoes to the mayor of Surrey for his policing fixation. I think we should have a referendum to really see how many people wanted a new police force.
  • Roses, ice cream and congratulations to our grandson and his Millionaire teammates for your silver medal. Good season, guys! Thanks to the coaches and parents for supporting this team.
  • Rotten tomatoes to drivers who turn right at an intersection without even a glance at pedestrians.
  • Rotten tomatoes to the City of Surrey – how many petitions does one need to get permanent “no parking” on one side of the residential street? We had one with 21 signatures, when we only needed 16. Why was that petition not honoured?
