• I wanted to send out a rotten tomato to the driver of a red Ram pickup who went out of the way to drive through a large puddle and soak my daughter and the Now-Leader papers she was delivering. There were no other vehicles on the road or animals etc., so no reason to swerve into the puddle and soak a 10-year-old.
• Rotten mouldy tomatoes to Surrey’s mayor and council for giving themselves a raise when we have so many Surrey residents who have lost their incomes. We have many Surrey businesses struggling. We are already paying for the mayor’s vehicle and insurance. Everyone, please pay attention to where your tax dollars are going. Vote with your information next election. Your vote counts.
• Rotten tomatoes to the City of Surrey for treating all of its auxiliary staff like garbage. I do not believe for one minute that COVID-19 alone is the only reason for all these mass layoffs. It obviously has to do with money in the city budget going toward the new police force. Why not create more jobs for city staff or hire additional first responders? Something very sinister is going on behind the scenes and nothing’s being done to put a stop to it.
• Rotten tomatoes to City of Surrey. When reservations opened for swimming for the week of spring break, their website crashed and my booking hung for 45 minutes, and then I lost it. Tried to call them the next morning and their queue was overloaded. At very least put in a callback feature. Open reservations one week prior rather than for the whole week at the same time!
• Roses and thank-you to the City of Surrey employees who put loads of gravel on the walkway at Crescent Beach. You have done a good job. I hope there is enough gravel left over to do the trails in the back area of Crescent Beach.
• Roses to the young lady at The Gold Room who fixed my watch band and charged me to “Have a nice day,” which I did. Your kindness and all the great service is one of the reasons this shop has been voted best jewelry store for many years. Thank you.
