On my last venture into town, something had changed.
I had become used to the driving habits of Vernonites and their ability to navigate about with the use of an innate sense of location and position. I have heard of increased ability to use other senses when one is lost, but perhaps you really don’t realize that you have adapted until the sense has been restored. I have witnessed many drivers with a Jedi-like quality knowing where they should drive and how to position themselves on the road. Most have some ability to use the force to keep themselves and others safe. Wile not as accurate as Obi-Wan Kenobi, you can see people becoming used to the ability to know where you should be.
This sense we have been forced to use was negated somewhat by some Good Samaritan who, by some stroke of genius, came up with the idea to put an ink-like substance on the road which separated the vehicles from each other.
This strange coating seems to make driving around a little safer. People seem to know on which side of the road to drive on.
It even had a colour scheme that helps, with some road rules using orange and white lines.
Perhaps we should learn from this Good Samaritan and expand upon her or his good work. How about we make it a regular occurrence and see if we can keep those roads safe?
