Safe injection debate needs to be balanced

I'm disappointed in the biased article written about the response to a permanent safe injection site

To the editor,

Re: Supervised consumption stalls, June 1.

I’m extremely disappointed in the biased article written about the community response to a permanent safe injection site in the downtown core. Instead of finding an equal amount of people from both sides of the argument (as I know there are), the writer chose to interview three people who heartily disagree with the implementation of such a service and one public health nurse.

Firstly, the public health nurse is the only one actually qualified to make an argument as she would be most aware of the need and benefits of a safe injection site of the community. The three business owners who are so opposed are just spouting off fear.

It’s disheartening to know that this is the sort of journalism that this newspaper supports.
