For several months, I worked on planning a motorcycle Scavenger Hunt, and with the help of some friends, enjoyed presenting this event in August.
After all the work and time that went into the planning, and the hopes of raising a lot of money for the Vernon and District Animal Care Society, we were very disappointed that there was such a small turnout for this ride. However, those that did come out had a very good time and at the end of the ride added money to our donations bucket to show their gratitude for this good time. At the end of the day, money was raised to help the animals; fun was had by those who partook in the ride and those who put on the event. The animals will benefit, so it is a success.
After a tie-breaking quiz, first prize (valued at $295) was presented to Nerissa Schibli, and second prize (valued at $165) was presented to Dave Schibli, both of Lumby. Cheques and cash are being presented to the Vernon & District Animal Care Society (VDACS).
I would like to thank the sponsors for their kind and generous support of this Scavenger Hunt.
Without their support and donations, we could not have called this a success.
