Senior care

MLA Michelle Stillwell’s claim that B.C. leads in seniors’ care shows once again that the B.C. Liberals know what to say, but don’t actually deliver.

Such was the case in the Scrooge-like policy of the B.C. Liberals to prevent hundreds of seniors from having Christmas dinner with their families in Island care homes. It was only after I and other opposition members pushed them on this issue in Question Period in the legislature that they decided to reverse their callous policy.

Under the B.C. Liberals, life is in fact becoming more difficult for seniors. Whether through cuts to the seniors ferry fare discounts, higher hydro costs, increasing MSP premiums, or uncaring policies like ruining Christmas dinner, our province’s seniors are being neglected by the B.C. Liberal government.
