Re: Qualicum Beach alienates labour pool (Letters, March 22).
It would appear, that Ms. Lytle has more than enough issues with the seniors of Qualicum Beach, to the point where she claims that both Qualicum Beach and Parksville are messy. And that she is not making a living wage, and it is not all the fault of the businesses, so some of the fault must be with the seniors, and it would seem that it is the fault of the seniors that there is a shortage of rental and “affordable” housing in this community.
As a senior, I must inform the writer that when we were young we could not afford to live where we wanted to. We had to go to those places where we could afford to live and make a decent living to support our families. We could not live at the beach, and we did not whine about it. We simply got on with the job of doing what we had to do, and that is why we are living at the beach now.
And it is not for Ms. Lytle and her ilk to worry about our future, we will do what we have to; we will take care of ourselves.
