So the BMP (Big Motor People) didn’t get their way and have thrown a tantrum that will cost the taxpayers of the RDNO even more money.
Under the proposed rules the BMP do not lose access to the Shuswap River, they just won’t be able to go fast. Fast is dangerous for all the other users (tubers, canoeists, kayakers, paddle boarders and swimmers).
BMP don’t do compromise well, however, they do yell and intimidate well and the RDNO has caved to these tactics.
Allegations that BMP weren’t consulted is simply horsepucky, it was difficult to ignore the yelling tactics at the Drill Hall Open House.
RDNO and the EAAC need to respect all users and insure that it is safe for everyone.
