On my first day hiking in Jasper, I met a wonderful couple from England.
They mentioned their quick, overnight stay in Quesnel; they had been traveling on the Rocky Mountaineer.
They wished they could have had more time in Quesnel, but were grateful to their bus driver for giving them a quick tour of the downtown core, as they had time before their departure.
They especially loved our flowers and enjoyed seeing the Hudson’s Bay Building and our walking bridge.
I know they will be back.
My experience continued as I met a gentleman, living in Banff, who spoke highly of Quesnel and his childhood visits in Barkerville and is planning a snowmobile trip our way this winter.
On my final day hiking in Banff, Alberta, I met a couple from North Vancouver who also love Quesnel, particularly our flowers.
Both are avid gardeners and were so impressed with our Community in Bloom. They were here experiencing the Bowron Lake Chain, but spoke mostly of our city.
I left Alberta feeling very proud of Quesnel and the impressions it leaves on our tourists.
