Re: letter ‘Missing MLA’ by Sue Aldous (The NEWS, Aug. 26).
May I just add that I had an identical experience in February trying to get in touch with our MLA. I sent e-mails to no avail, I telephoned to no avail, I wrote a letter to no avail. None of my attempts to reach our MLA were ever acknowledged. I gave up trying to contact her after about three weeks.
My request to the MLA’s office was similar to that of Aldous’. I needed some information — I was not asking for the moon — just some information. I got none at all, not even a note saying my calls or my letter or e-mails had been received. I have to assume the letter was delivered or I would have had it returned in the post by now.
So my question is, as was Aldous’ — why do we even have a MLA? Should we not have someone who can give us information when we need it? This is the end of August and I wrote the letter in February so is there still a chance that I might hear from our MLA?
