Sunday events

Resident concerned that special activities are scheduled at the same time as church services

I am curious about the rationale behind community events, such as the Terry Fox Run and the CIBC Run for the Cure, being scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sundays?

I am proud to say that my family attends church every Sunday and that my children really look forward to attending each week.

I view attending church as a healthy activity that we enjoy together as a family each week.

We are active community members that enjoy supporting good causes such as the Terry Fox Run and we love that those activities encourage active living.

On what grounds are these decisions made?

Wouldn’t everyone benefit if families and individuals had the ability to attend both their church service and the community events?

I urge those who are in charge to consider the numerous people who attend Sunday services when making these decisions for community events.
