Tanks to fast-acting rescuers

This letter is to thank Hope Search and Rescue, paramedics and the RCMP for rescuing William Barrett and Cody, a Pomeranian, from Mount Hope on the Dec. 7.

They went out at 2 p.m. and when 4 p.m. came around, panic mode set in.

I called the RCMP and they were so quick to act. I was taken to the base of Mount Hope where I was treated wonderful and kept up with details. Special thanks goes out to our new dog, who actually found them first. Cody stayed with William the entire time.

William has Parkinson’s and his medication wore off, which leaves him barely able to move. When they found them, William’s core temperature was 35 degrees. Cody allowed search and rescue to wrap him in a blanket and set him on William’s chest.

I would also like to thank relatives and friends who went at their own peril to find them.

This is a blessing and we all could use good news at any time.

Thank you everyone.

Must not forget the hospital emergency people.
