Will someone let me know if they only got a 2.9 per cent property tax increase this year as was advertised.
We got a 20 per cent increase and our friends an 11 per cent on theirs. Calling the municipal tax office got a really wishy-washy response. The tax department blamed those who set the mill rate and vice versa.
When is government going to wake up that the average homeowner, and especially the retirees on a fixed pension, cannot afford this sort of increase”
