Tax separation

I am very happy that the HST was defeated, because I am much opposed to have the federal government meddling in provincial affairs, especially when it has to do with taxation.

Furthermore, the Canadian constitution states in Section 92 that the provinces have the exclusive right for direct taxation for provincial purposes. As far as I know, the province of Quebec is the only province in Canada, that has the moral strength to live by that.

It is my hope that our provincial government will have the fortitude to spend our money wisely.
