Tech impressed with sports facility

This letter is the first one that I have written in over 20 years of instruction a variety of courses to do with facility maintenance

Editor’s Note: The following letter was sent to the staff at the North Thompson Sportsplex on Oct. 18:

To the staff:

Recently I was invited by Roger Mayer to conduct the Recreation Facilities Association of B.C. Building Services Worker 1 class for staff at your facility.

As an instructor for the Recreation Facilities Association, I get to see a lot of physical plants and to meet many staff members.

This letter is the first on that I have written in over 20 years of instruction a variety of courses to do with facility maintenance in western Canada. I would like to convey my thanks for your hospitality and the preparations made for the successful two-day Building Services Worker 1 training program.

In addition and most importantly, I was impressed by the condition of your “mature” facility. It was spotless and in such great repair. I believe that the attitude of the staff has preserved your community center as an example of what good and consistent care can accomplish.

The clean, bright and welcoming atmosphere could set an example for many other facilities in the province.

Both Roger Mayer and Robert Behan went out of their way to make the course a success and that great attitude shows throughout the facility.

Thank you again for inviting me.
