Well Quesnelites, another Good Cheer Christmas Hamper campaign is done and done very well.

Even though the economy has been playing havoc on many businesses and people in general, you all reached deep and provided over and above what we needed to do up 802 hampers.

We owe a huge thank you to Maple Park Mall and its staff and merchants for offering us the use of the depot again this year.

What a wonderful place to work out of. Thank you to Brian and staff from Save-on Foods, once again, a super job.

All went so smoothly and that makes a big job much easier.

Thank you to the Cariboo Observer, the Bargain Hunter, Shaw Cable, the Rush and the Wolf for giving us all much needed publicity.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the employees of Quesnel Plywood and West Fraser Mills and the Ministry of Forests. Your wonderful donations supplied the turkeys for our families and gift cards for our singles. Without your donations we would not have been able to supply any of these.

Thank you to the Quesnel Millionaires, the Midget Rep team, all of the adults who jumped in to help them, the folks from the Rotary Club and the churches who helped with the door-to-door blitz and all those in the depot sorting and putting the donations on the shelves.

That was a big job well done and brought in much needed food.

Also to all of the teachers and staff at the schools who work alongside the students collecting food and sending money for food, thank you.

Thank you to the parents who supply the students with all the food donations.

Thank you to each and every individual, business and organization that donates to Good Cheer financially.

Each donation is greatly appreciated whether it be five cents or a thousand dollars as that is what goes towards paying our huge grocery bill at the end of the year.

We have never been short these past 20 years. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your faithful giving.

Thank you to the Salvation Army for giving us toys when they heard we were short.

We are often short of gifts for 10 – 12 year-old children and it happened again this year.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who give of their time and energy to sort, stack and pack all of the food and toys into hampers.

Without all of you the job would not get done.

Thanks so much.

May you all be blessed with a blessed, joy-filled new year. With thanks from all of us at Quesnel Good Cheer. Hip, hip hooray for Quesnel.

From all the Quesnel Good Cheer volunteers
