Thank you for helping man in wheelchair in the snow
This is a HUGE thank you to the man who helped me on Dec. 24; I am sorry I did not take the time to get your name, I was just so stressed I didn’t think of asking for it.
I needed to get some last-minute shopping done for Christmas, and I took the bus to Wal-Mart. I got off the bus and started up the sidewalk; that was when I hit a major problem.
I use a wheelchair and the sidewalks had not yet been cleared of snow or ice, and I got maybe halfway to the end of the sidewalk, and my wheelchair (powerchair not a manual) got stuck. I could no longer go forward or back, I had no idea what I was going to do; then all of a sudden behind me a man asked if I needed some help. He said he saw me as he drove past and thought I needed a hand.
He pushed and literally pulled my chair by hand on his own, till we were close to the end of the sidewalk and I was able to then put my chair back in power mode and was able to drive my chair the rest of the way to the road and to Wal-Mart.
If it was not for this kind man I am not sure what I would have been able to do, so thank you very much.
There was also another man on a bike who stopped and asked if we needed a hand, but the other gentleman had me there already, but still thank you to him as well.
This is why I love living on this Island in a medium town, with very helpful people who don’t stop and think they just help when needed.
