Who is the person you call when your car won’t start?
Who is the person who will drive hundreds of miles in the pouring rain to move you and your belongings back home?
Who is the man who doesn’t usually say more than two words to you but instead of saying the words I love you, shows you with his actions?
Fathers, that’s who.
In my time, fathers were the breadwinners. They worked hard, and if they put food on the table and kept a roof over our heads, they felt their job was done.
Now, more and more dads are involved with the care-taking roles. They change diapers, get the kids off to school, and make dinners.
This Father’s Day say I love you to him, give him a hand-written note, take him fishing, or out to dinner (but don’t make him dress up), spend some time with your father and get to know the man you call dad.
