I would like to express my gratitude to the Parksville Baptist church for their wonderful reminder of an amazing happening that took place over 2,000 years ago, when God visited our planet, taking on a human form and being born as a baby.
So impacting was this visitation that our very calendar has been divided into B.C. (before Christ) and A.D. (Latin: anno Domini, in the year of our Lord), speaking of how many years have passed since the birth of Jesus.
I know personally some of the people involved in the Bethlehem Walk. Months of preparation were needed, including the hours of cooking required to provide for the thousands who attended and continue to attend year after year. We are most grateful to you all.
Others I would like to thank are the Salvation Army and the S.O.S., not only for their Christmas contributions, but for what these organizations do throughout the year. I know many who have been helped in times of need through their services, and also know that they were treated with respect and kindness. Thank you again for your service to our community. We are very blessed to have you amongst us.
