Thanks to Bateman

Editor: I am writing to personally thank Jordan Bateman for his six years of service to our community as a councillor on the Langley Township council.  I also wish him well in his new career with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, which is lucky to have attracted a person as informed, well written and capable as Jordan.

Jordan did his job as councillor while supporting and raising a young family. Jenn and the children also deserve our thanks for the sacrifices they made, while dad and husband gave back to the community he grew up in.

Jordan and I met when he was a reporter for a local newspaper.  We have become friends.

I hope that other young people will enter into public life and lead our community in the future, as Jordan has. Not to mention they can teach us old dogs the usefulness of Facebook, Twitter and the like in communicating with our constituents.

We wish him well.

All the best.
