On behalf of the Columbia Valley Visitor Centre, located south of the crossroads, I want to say thank you to the Rotarians for their upcoming project to improve the look at the crossroads.
For over five months I have greeted visitors to our area from all over the world. It’s a rewarding and fascinating job to meet such a diverse group of people. What I have learned is that many don’t even know that Invermere exists and they are only stopping at the centre for a break on their way to Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper. When I tell them about the beautiful community only a short distance away they are surprised because there is little indication from the highway of the beauty beyond. First impressions are huge and by cleaning up the highway around Invermere we have a better chance to bring visitors in further. I look forward to spring and the welcoming look from the highway.
