Time to stop making a religion of cars
Kudos to the North Cowichan council for rejecting the expansion of the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit.
Finally, some sanity about this. This obnoxious place should never have been built in the first place. As I understand it, it doesn’t even provide much local employment. Millionaires are flown in from Europe and other locations and helicoptered to the facility, which is a rich person’s playground. A rich person with a mentality mired somewhere in the 1970s, I might add.
In 2019 the worship of the private automobile — especially the gasoline powered one — and fixation with speed and vehicle styling, belong in the trash can. OK, private cars if necessary, but it’s time to stop making a religion of them.
