Toilets a mess

I’m just wondering whether anyone, apart from myself, has frequented the women’s toilets in the Superstore in Duncan recently. If so, you’ll probably have noticed that the lighting is dismal, in fact at one point it was purple lighting, dark and virtually impossible to see properly. I assumed this was emergency lighting and would be fixed promptly. I was wrong. It’s not quite as dark now, but still dark enough to get into trouble (as I’ve found out). Last time I was in there, the person before me had probably stood up to pee while holding the door closed (because it wouldn’t lock) and peed on the seat. I came along and sat down on that seat — and you can imagine the rest. I had to go home immediately, throw my clothes in the wash and have a shower. Disgusting.

Also, a couple of the doors won’t lock so this makes privacy very difficult. In the wheelchair stall, some metal container has been hanging off the wall for months. Very often the toilet paper hasn’t been installed properly and as people try to get toilet paper to use, tiny pieces of paper tear off and they’re all over the floor.

I have complained at customer service, to no avail. I have contacted Loblaws to complain, but nothing has been done. I’d like to get some action. This is not just a personal issue, it’s a hygiene and health issue.

Meantime, the Superstore in Nanaimo is always well looked after. The women’s toilet in Duncan Canadian Tire is spotless and well looked after. So, if you feel the need to go to Superstore to shop, I’d suggest you go to the Canadian Tire store for a quick visit before you tackle the Duncan Superstore.
