Editor: I would like to reassure Gordon Wakelyn (The Times, Aug. 21) who wrote about the “green bin” notices. When I received the first notice, I called the Township to explain that we composted all food and garden waste, except bones and woody hedge clippings.
The man I spoke to told me he would make a list of home composters, and took down my details. He also told me to wrap the bones in newspaper and put them with hedge clippings in the required bin.
I also put a large notice on my garbage can about my compost, to avoid any ticket under bylaw no. 4845.
