On behalf of hundreds of children in the community of Oceanside, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who planned and participated in the fifth annual Tigh-Na-Mara Toy Drive.
When general manager Paul Drummond chose the Society of Organized Services as the recipients of the Toy Drive five years ago, we could not imagine the outpouring of community generosity that would bring so much joy to so many children.
We are also grateful to the media sponsors who promoted this event, and would like to thank The Parksville Qualicum Beach News, The Beach and The Lounge radio stations, and Shaw Communications. This year, 1,827 gifts and $2,290 worth of gift cards will be waiting under the tree for children and teens and $1,501 of cash donations will support our Christmas program, thanks to the Tigh-Na-Mara Toy Drive.
To every person who dropped by with a toy; who volunteered their time to help; and who remembered what it was like to be a child at Christmas, dreaming of a special gift, we thank you and wish you a very happy Christmas.
