The proposed water transportation pipeline running along the former E&N Rail line in Parksville has stirred up residents of Trill Drive who own property backing onto the E&N Rail right of way.
There is a buffer with trees between our property line and tracks. The pipeline is scheduled to run on the water, or north side of the tracks.
This includes eight metres from track centre for the pipeline and a five-metre access road which could be as close as five to seven metres from our actual houses.
This also affects other residents in the nearby Creekside development at Corfield Street.
We are not against the project, just the location of the line. This line starts from the treatment plant on the south side past Martindale then crosses over to the north side.
Reason for crossing over? There is a buried fibre optic cable on the south side which they have already located.
The terrain on the south side is not as steep as it is on the north side, therefore more suited for the project where it won’t impact residents on that side as much, as they are acreages.
This is very stressful and also affects property values.
