Truckers need amenities on the road
May I bring something to all of our attention? We rightfully have given our thanks and love and prayers for all the great people working in these terrible times keeping us safe and treating the sick and doing all the right things for the greater good, but I have been watching the news reports and it’s breaking my heart to see how our truckers are being treated.
As the wife of a retired trucker I know the importance of being able to get food, get a place to rest, and have a shower. My husband would be away for a week or more at a time. Can you imagine if you were on a long drive and the rest stops were closed or the restraunts are closed? No food, no bathroom. Our government must do something to help this dire situation.
Please sit and think of all the food and all the things that make your life comfortable and keep our country going. What if the trucks stop running? How do we get food, medications and the hundreds of things these people bring to us daily? Please email your MP and see if they can get some help for the big wheelers keeping us going.
Thank you all of the workers: doctors, nurses and hospital staff already on the front line and don’t forget all the cleaners and others, just too many to mention. When you go to your fridge, think about this. I know the government is doing a good job, there is so much to think of and believe me toilet rolls could be the least of our worries before this ends. God keep us all safe looking after each other.
