I don’t shop at Walmart but I support their choice to no longer accept payments with visa cards. Their reason: visa fees are far too high for the merchant; a fact that customers don’t even realize that merchants are charged large service fees on each and every credit card customers use to pay for their purchases. Visa is one of the highest and depending upon which benefit your card offers the merchant pays a premium service fee based on the type of card used.
No fee cards to the customer still incurs a service fee to the merchant but the higher annual fee on a customer card rises the merchant’s service fee substantially. Bank charges have got ridiculously out of hand.
